February 1 – have a tea party

February 1 in the folk calendar is Makariev’s Day. According to folk signs, this day is good for having a gathering over a cup of tea with relatives or friends. Our ancestors believed that such a pastime is a guarantee that a person will spend the whole year in good company, and life will be prosperous and joyful.

The samovar was inflated on Makariev Day with the help of felt boots. It was believed that in this way felt boots would receive healing properties and be able to heal leg diseases of the one who put them on.

Also, according to signs, any good deeds and projects started today will be successful.

And in order to attract wealth and protect yourself from diseases, going out on February 1, you need to say: “I leave the house as a gentleman, and I will return to the house as a boyar.”

When choosing what to wear, put aside dark, especially black, things, giving preference to clothes of light shades. Otherwise, if you believe the signs, improvements in life will not begin soon.

You should not take on hard, backbreaking work today, unless it is part of your professional duties. Otherwise, according to popular belief, the whole year will have to work beyond measure, and the result of this work will be negligible.

Also, our ancestors followed the following signs on this day: you can’t do needlework – to problems at work; you can’t get a haircut – so as not to lose happiness and good luck; you can’t wash children’s things – the protection from the evil eye will “wash off”; you can’t swear and swear – to diseases of the teeth.

Folk signs on February 1 are as follows:

– what is the weather on that day, this will be the whole month;

– clear day and thaw – by early spring;

– severe frost – to a hot summer;

– many stars are visible in the sky – the winter will drag on.

Dreams that are dreamed on the night of February 2 can come true, but exactly the opposite. For example, a bad and terrible dream – to joy and pleasure, poverty in a dream – to profit, a quarrel – to reconciliation, and so on.
