The exoskeleton, which can become a breakthrough in the rehabilitation of patients after a stroke, was developed at the Research Institute of Molecular Electronics (NIIME), which is a resident of the Technopolis Moscow SEZ. Inventions of this purpose already exist, but have a number of disadvantages. To make them move, you need to press the remote control button. The novelty will non-invasively read electromyographic signals from human muscles and record the actual position of the hand. Based on these data, the trained neural network will predict which trajectory is most likely in the interval of 0.2 – 0.3 milliseconds. In this way, it is possible to obtain an active enhancement of natural motion, quickly and accurately predicting the trajectory, taking into account the individual physical characteristics of the user.

“NIIME has been a resident of the Moscow SEZ since 2015. The company conducts research and development work in the field of micro- and nanoelectronics. Currently, over 600 highly qualified specialists work at NIIME, including three academicians and two corresponding members of the Russian Academy of Sciences, more than 70 doctors and candidates of sciences. The new development will be in demand primarily in medicine, for example, in the rehabilitation of patients after a stroke,” said Vladislav Ovchinsky, head of the Moscow Department of Investment and Industrial Policy.
