FC Neftyanik won another silver medal at regional competitions

The football club, created with the active assistance of PJSC NK RussNeft, successfully performed at the interregional mini-football tournament. The competition was dedicated to Defender of the Fatherland Day, the company’s press service clarified.

The championship was held in the village of Nikolaevka, Ulyanovsk region, where the football players from the working-class village of Novospasskoye were transported by a team tourist bus of increased comfort, specially purchased last year.

Having won a series of confident victories, the players reached the final. There the guys had to compete with athletes from the Penza region. The main time of the fierce duel ended with the score 1:1. Then, by chance, the young football players lost to their opponents in a penalty shootout, which is also called football roulette. As a result, young oil workers took second place.

The Neftyanik girls team also performed well. The football players competed in the finals of the all-Russian competition at the championship as the winners of the regional stage of the all-Russian project “Mini football for school”. The girls proudly defended the honor of the Ulyanovsk region: in a division of 16 winning teams from various regions of the country, the students took 4th place.

Also, at the beginning of last year, a team of guys born in 2009 confidently beat their opponents at the Interregional tournament in the Penza region. Having demonstrated a real fight, the guys easily took first place in the competition. In addition, the team of Neftyanik students born in 2011 performed well at the regional tournament in Ulyanovsk. Then the guys were able to win bronze, ending up in third place in the standings.

The press service of the oil company recalled that the football club was created in 2003 in the working village of Novospasskoye, Novospasskoye district, Ulyanovsk region. Today, the club has more than 200 children in age groups from 7 to 17 years old.
