“Chaika” beat “Irbis” in the third match of the series

Hockey players of the Nizhny Novgorod “Chaika” continue to fight for victory in the Kharlamov Cup playoffs. The team from Nizhny Novgorod is the current holder of the Kharlamov Cup and during the regular season showed good results in the “Golden” division, settling in the first half of the standings. Based on the results of 50 matches played, “Chaika” took 4th place in the “Golden” division of the Eastern Conference, losing only to representatives of Omsk, Chelyabinsk and Khanty-Mansiysk. In the first round of the playoffs, Alexei Isakov’s team went to the Kazan Irbis and so far everything is going according to plan.
After two matches in Nizhny Novgorod, the playoff series moved to Kazan, where Chaika was able to show its superiority over rivals representing the Ak-Bars system. Already in the middle of the match, “Chaika” made a result by scoring three unanswered goals into the “Irbis” goal. Then Irbis returned to the game and made the score 2:3, but in the last seconds Chaika scored the fourth goal and took the lead in the series. Thus, the match ended with a score of 4:2 in favor of the Nizhny Novgorod “Chaika”.
The fourth meeting between Chaika and Irbis will take place on March 12. The meeting is scheduled to start at 18:30 Moscow time.
