Italian fashion designer Franca Fendi, who, along with her sisters, determined the development strategy of the world-famous Fendi group, has died at her home in Rome at the age of 88, writes La Repubblica.
The third of the five Fendi sisters, Franca put a lot of effort and talent into the family group, founded by her parents in 1925.
In the early 1950s, all five sisters rose at the helm of the fashion house at once: Paola, Anna, Franca, Karla and Alda. Each of them had their own field of activity. Franca was in charge of the historic Fendi sales office in the center of Rome.
Thanks to the efforts of the sisters Fendi and Karl Lagerfeld in the 1980s, Fendi became one of the leaders in the creation of fashionable clothes, leather and fur products, accessories, and perfumes.
