On April 6, the Fakel volleyball team from Novy Urengoy beat an opponent from Novosibirsk and reached the semi-finals of the Super League, this was announced by the Governor of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug Dmitry Artyukhov.
“Our “Fakel” is in the semi-finals of the Russian Volleyball Championship! For the first time in five years. The team defeated Novosibirsk Lokomotiv in a difficult match. There are serious battles ahead, but the athletes have already come a long way and I’m sure they won’t stop,” Artyukhov wrote on his social networks.
The match took place in Novosibirsk at the Lokomotiv Arena. Novy Urengoy “Fakel” beat Novosibirsk “Lokomotiv” with a score of 2:3.
In the semifinals, the Novy Urengoy team will play with Zenit-Kazan. The series will last until three victories, the first matches will be held at the Kazan site on April 9 and 11, the return matches will be on April 15 and (if necessary) on April 17 in Novy Urengoy, and the fifth (if the match score is 2:2) will again take place in Kazan on April 20.
