From September 3, the Face Pay fare payment system will start working in test mode at all MCC stations, informed the Moscow Department of Transport in its Telegram channel.
“We are preparing for the full launch of Face Pay at the MCC for passengers. From September 3, it will be possible to pay for travel using biometrics at any station of the Ring in test mode,” said Moscow Deputy Mayor Maxim Liksutov.
The deputy mayor also added that the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, instructed to expand the implementation of Face Pay and make it more convenient. At the moment, Liksutov specified, there are more than 190,000 users in the system and their number is growing. However, the choice of paying for the fare will remain with the passengers, he noted.
From September 1, it is planned to gradually connect 15 stations to the Face Pay system, including Kutuzovskaya, Avtozavodskaya, Andronovka, Baltiyskaya, Rokossovsky Boulevard, Vladykino, Dubrovka, ZIL, Zorge ”, “Izmailovo”, “Koptevo”, “Likhobory”, “Lokomotiv”, “Nizhny Novgorod” and “Okruzhnaya”, the report said.
Face Pay has been launched at metro stations since October 15, 2021. You can connect to it in the Moscow Metro app.
