Ex-candidate for governor of Primorye received 6 years in prison

Former candidate for governor of Primorsky Krai Andrey Ishchenko was convicted and sentenced to six years in a penal colony, RIA Novosti reports.
The corresponding decision was made by the Pervomaisky District Court of Vladivostok. Ishchenko was tried for fraud, the damage from his activities amounted to more than 387 million rubles. He was accused of embezzling funds from equity holders, the events took place from December 2016 to June 2021, when Ishchenko was the founder of the Aurora-Stroy developer company.
As a result, the house was never completed, and 187 people were deceived. Ishchenko pleaded not guilty. In addition to the prison term, the court ruled on compensation for moral damages in 22 civil claims, each claimant is entitled to 100,000 rubles. Ishchenko and his lawyers have reportedly not yet decided whether they will appeal the court’s decision. Earlier, he pleaded guilty in another case – he was convicted of selling non-residential premises to equity holders under the guise of residential ones.
Ishchenko participated in the 2018 gubernatorial elections and made it to the second round along with the then acting head of the region, Andrey Tarasenko.
