How informs portal Ura.ru, the first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Economic Policy Nikolai Arefiev proposed to abandon the use of the concept of “living wage” in the country.
According to the people’s choice, the “subsistence minimum” that exists today does not reflect reality in any way, but is a “bureaucratic tick”.
“All calculations are a bureaucratic delay … They calculate it either arithmetic, or by the median component, … they find any tricks so that a person does not pay. So that he does not live, but survives,” Arefyev said.
He also stressed that the consumer basket in Russia is four times smaller than in the UK, and eight times smaller than in the US.
“This is not a living wage. This is a minimum of biological survival. We have 20 million people living below this stupid living wage,” the people’s choice added.
