Electric scooters in Russia will make loud sounds when driving

In the near future, electric scooters that make sounds while driving may appear on the streets of Russia. This is due to both traffic safety requirements and the goals of promoting SIM rental operators (kicksharing). Alexey Lukyanov, manager of a company that develops such sound solutions, spoke about this at a conference on micromobility on April 6.
– The increase in the accident rate of SIM is a serious problem, especially with the increase in the number of electric vehicles, – the expert noted. – In addition, sound is not only a safety factor, but also an important branding element for rental companies. The voice acting of silent electric sims is a great field of opportunity for designers. The result will be a combination of security and recognition, the ability to add emotions to users.
Most of the electric scooters on the Russian market are already prepared for such voice acting – they have loudspeakers and appropriate controllers. Sound designers develop sound libraries and write software. It is also possible, says Lukyanov, that individual sound “tuning” is also possible – for example, rental scooters may sound differently on holidays.
If the sound of scooters causes complaints from the townspeople, it is possible to program them to comply with the laws on silence, the developer emphasized.
