Elder Jehovah’s Witnesses Detained in Crimea – Kommersant

In Dzhankoy in the north of Crimea, an elder of the extremist organization Jehovah’s Witnesses, banned in the Russian Federation, was detained, Kommersant was told in the main department of the TFR for the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol.
According to law enforcers, the 58-year-old man held video conference meetings with adherents of the banned organization, promoted its ideas using extremist materials, attracted new supporters, collected and distributed donations.
The man was detained in Dzhankoy. “The suspect was charged with organizing the activities of a banned religious organization within the framework of an initiated criminal case,” the TFR specified.
Spring in Sevastopol was detained leader of a local cell of the organization “Jehovah’s Witnesses” banned in the Russian Federation.
