Peaceful Heroes: a reality show about Muscovites restoring Donbass

New stories about how comfortable living conditions were returned to Luhansk and Donetsk can already be seen on the social network

The first Muscovites arrived in Donbass last summer. The task of the employees of Mosgaz, Avtodor and Mosvodokanal was to repair the worn-out municipal economy. This daily work for the benefit of new Russian regions became the main plot of the reality show “DoM. Chronicle of Restoration”, in which viewers are introduced to the daily work of Moscow specialists in updating the destroyed infrastructure of Donetsk and Lugansk.

Issue after issue on the VKontakte social network, we can observe how water and gas are returned to residential buildings, eternal lights on memorials are lit, streets, schools and kindergartens are being repaired. Through the eyes of workers, viewers see the landscapes of the cities of Donbass and the sincere gratitude of their inhabitants.

“When the question arose about a business trip, we were warned that there would be a lot of work,” recalls Andrey Mekhedov, an asphalt concrete worker. – I would like to contribute to help people, the city, who have already suffered enough, in recovery.

Andrei and his team are preparing Lugansk roads for asphalt laying. The new issue details their work. Other issues are dedicated to plumbers.

– Before our arrival, most of the city was without a central water supply, and if there was water, then it was impossible to use it. Drinking water was delivered to the local population by trucks. We arrived, started changing the pipes, and the water became better, so the locals are very grateful to us, – says Alexander Ryaguzov, head of the repair and construction department of Mosvodokanal.

Even earlier, the audience got acquainted with the work of gas workers – with their help, stoves started working in the apartments, and Eternal Flames were lit near the monuments to the heroes of the war. Work on the reality show continues, and new pages of history will soon appear in the story about the key moments in the return of the Donbass urban infrastructure to modern standards of quality and comfort.
