Honored Master of Sports and Honored Mountaineering Coach of the USSR Eduard Myslovsky died at the age of 86. In 1982, he was part of the first Soviet Himalayan expedition to climb Everest.
Mr. Myslovsky died on December 15, reported Russian Mountaineering Federation. The reason is not specified.
Eduard Myslovsky – holder of the snow leopard title (1970, for conquering the highest peaks in the USSR). He first went to the mountains in 1954, and in 1961 he graduated from the All-Union School of Instructors in Dzhantugan. Repeated champion of the USSR as part of the Burevestnik team. After his first ascent of Everest in 1982, he was awarded the title of Honored Master of Sports and awarded the Order of Lenin. In 1989, he led the second Soviet Himalayan expedition to Kanchenjunga, he himself rose to a height of 8300 m. For the successful expedition he was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor (January 9, 1990) and awarded the title of Honored Trainer of the USSR.
