According to the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy and Heliophysical Instrumentation of IKI RAS and ISTP SB RAS, the solar wind flow, in which the Earth found itself, caused another magnetic storm. It became the fourth in three days, and of the previous three, two were long.
The magnetosphere turned out to be disturbed around midnight on September 3, and around 03:00 a G1 magnetic storm began, which lasted about three hours. On the night of September 4, a new geomagnetic storm began, oscillating between categories G1 and G2 for 18 hours. After a three-hour break, on September 5, a G1 magnetic storm began again, lasting 9 hours.
The fourth magnetic storm, also classified as G1, began at 15:00.
The power of geomagnetic storms is estimated on a five-point scale; magnetic storms of categories G1 and G2 pass almost imperceptibly for the inhabitants of the Earth.
