The head of the traffic police, Mikhail Chernikov, said that draft evaders in the Russian armed forces will not be able to take the exam for a driver’s license. They will also be deprived of the opportunity to replace a driver’s license.

“We see those who did not show up for the military registration and enlistment office in the general system of federal information through the State traffic inspectorate, in particular. Such citizens will not be provided with public services. They will not be able to replace a driver’s license, or get it again, or carry out any registration and examination actions, ”Mr. Chernikov said at a press conference (quoted by TASS).

The head of the traffic police also noted that within the framework of the federal law, all this is under control. “The information base is updated every day, and we have everything that is connected with the military registration and enlistment office for these citizens,” he added. July 11 comes into force order of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, according to which a person liable for military service who did not appear at the military registration and enlistment office within 20 days from the date of receipt of the summons will not be able to drive and register it.

April 14 President Vladimir Putin signed the law on the introduction in Russia of a unified register of persons liable for military service, equating electronic summonses to paper ones. It is assumed that from the date of receipt of the summons (both in electronic and paper form), in addition to the ban on obtaining bank loans limited the recipient’s ability to leave Russia. According to the head of the Ministry of Digital Development Maksut Shadayev, the unified register of military registration will start working by the autumn draft.
