Doctor Myasnikov warned about the return of diphtheria to Russia

How informs TV channel “Russia 1”, doctor and TV presenter Alexander Myasnikov warned that cases of infection with such a dangerous disease as diphtheria are again registered in Russia.
The expert recalled that the mass vaccination of the population, which was carried out in the 30-40s of the 20th century, made it possible to practically eradicate diphtheria.
“In the 90s in Russia and the CIS, these preventive measures were not applied so strictly, this led to an increase in the incidence … For example, now outbreaks of diphtheria are increasingly observed in the Novosibirsk region,” Myasnikov said, calling for vaccination every ten years in order to avoid this infection.
