With the onset of the long May holidays, a considerable part of the population rushes out of the city, where they indulge in dacha chores. Some representatives of show business are no exception. “MK” found out which of the artists will plant seedlings and sunbathe in the garden.

This year, finally, after many years, I convinced my mother not to plant potatoes on our site. I never understood why all spring, summer and autumn hunchbacked in the garden: weeding, fighting the Colorado potato beetle, then digging up. But Mommy is a man of the old school, she always said: “So it is necessary! Let’s plant potatoes!” Finally gave up! I immediately took control of the vacated space. We will make luxurious flower beds during the May holidays. I bought beautiful fences and many, many bulbs of a variety of my favorite tulips. Let’s make our own little Holland at the dacha, ”said the artist.

“I made a promise to myself for the May holidays to completely take a break from work and spend time with my family in the country. I even deliberately left my computer in Moscow, – the performer told MK. – We have already left for the dacha – with our pet Umych (a dog of the Akita Inu breed – author’s note). This is his first trip from a Moscow apartment to “free range”. We have done all the necessary vaccinations and treatment of wool against ticks, now you can safely walk with him through the forest and fields near the site. Umych immediately felt like a real master in the country, it seems to me that he really likes country life. It is worn all over the site. We are even a little worried about our flower beds, it seems that this year they will obviously suffer from his powerful paws.

By the way, this year my mother and I decided on a garden experiment: we want to try to grow watermelons in our climate near Moscow. We bought professional seeds, they say that some varieties are adapted even for growing in Siberia. We will also try to plant seeds that we saved from watermelons that we ate in the fall. Let’s see what seeds watermelons will grow from. Part of the berries will be planted in a greenhouse, and part – in open ground. It is very interesting what will come out of this undertaking.”

The Belarusian singer is a great connoisseur of the garden theme, since he is a chemist by education and knows how and what to fertilize. In addition, since childhood, he spent a lot of time with his grandmother and saw how and what should be planted.

“Of course, I’ll go to the dacha for May holidays. It is necessary to put the garden in order, because something has already settled in the soil there – it needs to be weeded. This year I will have more beds: I need to try new crops. If they come in, I’ll tell you which ones. So far, I have planted only onions and strawberries, but there will be more cucumbers, tomatoes, zucchini, salads. I have a berry corner where aronia, raspberries and mulberries grow. I will also finish the branches on trees that have broken off after a snowy winter. It is necessary to repair the drainpipe on the house, because during heavy snowfalls and fumes, landslides occurred on the roof, which tore off the storm drain. There is really a lot to do. And, of course, I will make kebabs, I also know how to cook them, ”said the artist.

“We are now on a tour of the Urals, but for the May holidays we still decided to take a short break from the tour. We must at least … remove the Christmas tree! And this is not a joke, – Ekaterina smiles. – We really need to clean our favorite Christmas tree in the summer cottage from the remnants of tinsel and toys with which we decorated it when we gathered as a family for the New Year holidays. Of course, after the winter, not only the Christmas tree, but the entire plot and the house will have to be put in order. But after the subbotnik, we are back on tour – the spring tour continues!

We have a dacha in the Moscow region, you can live on it both in summer and in winter. We have a stove, water, and sewerage in our house, but in winter we almost never go there. Although this year the whole family celebrated the New Year there. At the dacha we have a lot of flowers, I confess honestly, mostly Alexei’s mother deals with them (Alexei Gorbashov is the legendary guitarist of the Mirage group, the husband of Ekaterina Boldysheva – ed.). I can’t say that I really like to dig in the ground and plant flowers, but I admire them with great pleasure! And, perhaps, in the May holidays I will still join the landing work!

Mint barbecue from Ekaterina Boldysheva

Before, I was very fond of barbecue and even collected recipes for unusual marinades: on kefir, wine, vinegar and mineral water – on what we didn’t prepare marinade for barbecue! The most delicious shish kebab I’ve ever eaten is prepared by Alexei’s son Anton. He is engaged in this process when we are going to the country. I don’t know how he does it, but his barbecue always turns out juicy and ruddy. Now I have cooled a little towards the meat and prefer to bake vegetables – peppers, eggplants, onions. But if you want to surprise your friends, then I recommend trying this “mint” recipe. Record!

Marinade Ingredients:

Seasoning for barbecue (you can just take your favorite seasonings) – 1 tablespoon with a slide

Salt – to taste

Mint – 3 large bunches

Onion – 0.5 kg

Cooking method:

1. Sprinkle meat with spices and mix thoroughly.

2. Line the bottom of the pot in which you will marinate the kebab with a piece of mint. Put a piece of meat on top and cover with mint. And so, in layers, lay out the entire pan. Mint should be on top.

3. Half an hour before the end of pickling, add chopped onion rings and mix.

Thanks to this method of marinating, the meat will acquire a delicate mint aroma and a pleasant spicy taste. Bon appetit!
