A significant number of patients will have an asymptomatic myocardial infarction at some point in their lives. This was told by cardiologist Alexander Myasnikov to the Medikforum publication.
“Heart attacks and microstrokes can be asymptomatic,” the doctor noted.
Myasnikov emphasized that the absence of visible symptoms in such attacks is very dangerous, since a person may not seek help in time.
It is noted that painless ischemia occurs in people with dementia, diabetes mellitus, atherosclerosis, as well as in smokers and alcohol abusers. Deformation of the heart muscle leads to complications, and sometimes death.
A microstroke, the doctor states, is temporary, it appears as a result of blockage by a blood clot in one of the blood vessels through which the brain receives oxygen. The disease most often occurs as a warning about a real stroke.
The following symptoms are characteristic of a microstroke: numbness, pain in the head, impaired coordination and intolerance to bright light and loud sound.
