It is strictly forbidden to look into the refrigerator of Russian families and “look at the plate,” said the head of the State Duma Committee on Family Issues Nina Ostanina (fraction of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation) at a press conference on Friday. In her opinion, raw food parents who feed their children the same way are themselves victims of improper upbringing.

– These are questions from the parents themselves. Where are these grandparents? The way they were raised is how they will continue to raise their children. Older children, when they enter the public spaces of a kindergarten or school, see their peers and understand who lives how and who eats what.

And here it is quite obvious that they have developed their own worldview, that a raw food diet will allow them to become healthy. And they began to impose it on others, and no one stopped them,” Ostanina commented on the recent tragedy in Krasnoyarsk, where a two-year-old girl died of exhaustion in a family of raw foodists.

Also, the head of the State Duma Committee on Family, Women and Children criticized “home” births. However, Ostanina also sees no point in banning them.

– Let’s raise the prestige of our healthcare so that everyone understands that it is the best in the world, as it once was. And so that they understand that they cannot do without a doctor,” said the deputy.

Ostanina blamed social networks for the popularity of home births.

– “Great” experts there advise giving birth at home. How many women have already passed away from this life and caused damage to the health of the child. But, unfortunately, it turns out that until you try it yourself, you won’t draw any conclusions,” emphasized the head of the State Duma Committee on Family Issues. She also noted that the policy of TV channels is not aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle and proper balanced nutrition.
