Dmitry Peskov announced a meeting between Vladimir Putin and the heads of religious associations. It will take place on Wednesday, October 25th.
According to the Kremlin speaker, Putin plans to invite Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus’ Kirill, Mufti, Chairman of the Coordination Center of Muslims of the North Caucasus Ismail Berdiev, Mufti, Chairman of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Russian Federation and Chairman of the Council of Muftis of Russia Ravil Gainutdin, Chairman of the Central Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Russia Talgat Tajuddin.
And also Pandito Khambo Lama, head of the Buddhist Traditional Sangha of Russia Dambu Ayusheev, Chief Rabbi of Russia Berl Lazar, Metropolitan of Moscow and All Rus’ of the Russian Orthodox Old Believer Church Cornelius, head of the Russian and New Nakhichevan diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church of Ezras, commanding bishop of the Russian United Union of Christians Evangelical faith (Pentecostal) Sergei Ryakhovsky.
The head of Russian Catholics, Archbishop Pavel Pezzi, is not among the listed religious figures, however, according to Peskov, the list of invitees will still be finalized until Wednesday.
The Kremlin speaker noted that the president wants to discuss the international situation with representatives of religious organizations, as well as talk about the internal situation in the country. “And of course, express gratitude for their active position in consolidating Russian society and strengthening harmony within the country,” Peskov said.
