This coming Saturday, all Muscovites, especially those who are interested in the history of the capital’s transport, will experience an extraordinary event. First, at 11:00, a column of retro trams will solemnly pass along Lesnaya Street, and then at 11:15, an exhibition of cars from different times will open on Tverskaya Zastava Square. Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport, spoke about this.
A column of historical carriages will travel to the starting point of the parade from the tram depot named after I.V. Rusakova. Muscovites will be able to see the passage of the column at the Sokolniki, Krasnoselskaya, Komsomolskaya, and Prospekt Mira metro stations, as well as near the Grandfather Durov Corner theater, on Dostoevskaya Street and on Borby Square.
As Maxim Liskutov noted, “the tram is the history of the city, which we carefully preserve.” He added that a large number of spectators is expected at this festival.
In addition, unique vintage cars will be exhibited in the parking lot near the Belorussky Station: mid-twentieth-century trucks and a ZIL retro bus from the collection of the Moscow Transport Museum, GAZ and ZIL passenger cars, as well as a Yunost minibus from the Special Garage Museum appointments of the FSO of Russia.
In addition, at the exhibition you will be able to see vintage cars “Moskvich”, “Zhiguli”, “Volga”, a line of legendary GAZ-21 cars and modern cars of the revived Moskvich plant – the city crossover “Moskvich-3” and the sedan “Moskvich-6” .
