On the first anniversary of the opening of full-fledged traffic on the BKL, an exhibition of paintings with images of the Bolshaya Koltsevaya stations was opened in the transition at the Petrovsky Park and Savelovskaya stations. Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport, spoke about this.

“For the birthday of the youngest metro line, we exhibited 50 of the best works by members of the Association of Plein Air Artists of Russia. Passengers had the opportunity to look at already familiar stations through the eyes of capital artists. Moscow transport continues to participate in the cultural life of the city on behalf of the Mayor of the capital Sergei Sobyanin,” he noted.

This project began to be implemented in April in the spring of 2023. The artists painted from life, placing easels so as not to interfere with passenger flow. Some were inspired by station architecture, some by trains, and some by people in the subway. More often than others, artists depicted the CSKA and Sokolniki stations. Of the 200 resulting works, 50 were selected for the exhibition, made in a variety of techniques: there are drawings, watercolors, and oil paintings. The exhibition will last until March 20.
