Deputy Lugovoi called for Galkin to be held accountable for discrediting

State Duma deputy Andrei Lugovoy appealed to the Prosecutor General’s Office with a request to bring showman Maxim Galkin (recognized as a foreign agent) to justice for discrediting the Russian army (Part 1 of Article 280.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and for fake news about it (Part 1 of Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code). On December 25, the Investigative Committee of Russia (ICR) already conducted an investigation against him under these articles.

“Does anyone else think that the soothsayer Galkin is talking harmless nonsense? About Bucha, about missiles, about lies, about Russia’s guilt. For the nationalist slogan “Glory to the Heroes!” you can have a daddy with a criminal case,” the deputy wrote in Telegram channel.

Previously, the deputy proposed depriving Maxim Galkin of citizenship, income from government contracts and state awards.

In TFR on December 26 reported TASS that they did not open a criminal case against the showman, and the case materials were returned to the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Moscow. As the department clarified, no grounds for initiating a case were found.

Maxim Galkin and his wife Alla Pugacheva left for Israel in the spring of 2022, after which Mr. Galkin repeatedly spoke out against Russia’s actions in Ukraine. In September 2022, the Ministry of Justice added Maxim Galkin to the register of foreign agents. After this, Alla Pugacheva asked to be included in this register, since she “stands in solidarity with her husband.”
