Residents of the village of Maya in Yakutia drew attention to the snow sculpture of the Snow Maiden, saying that it looked like the first president of the Russian Federation, Boris Yeltsin. An ice art object decorated the square of the settlement, they write “News from Yakutia and Yakutsk.”

“Some prankster photoshopped our unfinished snow sculpture and posted it online. Our Khaarchaana (Yakut Snow Maiden) looks nothing like Yeltsin. The work is almost complete,” said a local official.
Earlier, Yakut sculptor Mikhail Bopposov stated that for the upcoming the holiday will not create a sculpture of the symbol of the coming year from manure. According to him, he made sculptures according to the eastern calendar, there are only 12 of them, and he created all of them in previous years.
