Deputy from Tatarstan Khamaev condemned the announcement of Kadyrov’s son as a “hero of Muslims”

Deputy of the State Council of Tatarstan Azat Khamaev, speaking from the podium at a parliamentary session, criticized the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, although he did not name him.

“The first question I asked myself: what legal field do we live in today? Here is an example of such a question to which we must answer. The head of a subject of the Russian Federation awards the title of Hero to his son for beating a man. Further developing his idea, he says that he is the hero of all Muslims. Who can answer? – said Mr. Khamaev.

The deputy’s question was raised during the discussion of a new bill on the patriotic education of citizens in Tatarstan. None of the deputies began to answer him.

At the end of September Ramzan Kadyrov published video of a man beating another man. The caption to the video noted that the network is still arguing whether Ramzan Kadyrov’s son Adam beat Nikita Zhuravel, who is accused of burning the Koran. “He beat me and did the right thing,” wrote the head of Chechnya. The Human Rights Council under the President of Russia pointed out the need to comply with the rules for keeping accused and suspects in custody.

At the beginning of October, Adam Kadyrov was awarded the title of Hero of the Chechen Republic. And on October 15, Ramzan Kadyrov published a video with footage of the beating again. In his post he announced his son a hero of all Muslims.

Azat Khamaev, formerly the Minister of Land and Property Relations, heads the Committee on Ecology, Natural Resources, Agro-Industrial and Food Policy in the State Council. He was elected to the parliament of Tatarstan in 2019 on the United Russia list, although before his speech today, October 19, he emphasized that he is non-partisan and expresses his personal opinion.
