Bastrykin considered ethnic enclaves a threat to the local population – Kommersant

Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia (ICR) Alexander Bastrykin said that there are currently no prerequisites for reducing the crime of migrants on Russian territory. He said this during a speech at the military-scientific conference of the Russian Military Leaders Club “Society cohesion and strengthening interethnic relations are the basis of the country’s security at the present stage.” Contents of the speech of the head of the department leads press service of the Investigative Committee.

Mr. Bastrykin noted that “ethnic crime” manifests itself most actively in the Moscow region and St. Petersburg, as well as in the Krasnodar Territory, Irkutsk, Sverdlovsk and Novosibirsk regions. He emphasized that among the problems associated with regulating crime in these regions is “the emergence of ethnic enclaves that pose a threat to the local population.”

According to Alexander Bastrykin, in 2022, foreign citizens and stateless persons committed 37% more serious and especially serious crimes. “The number of crimes they committed has increased compared to last year and has already amounted to more than 31 thousand,” the press service said in a statement.

Today, October 19, Advisor to the President of Uzbekistan Kakhramon Kuranbaev offered Russian authorities to build schools and kindergartens for migrant children at the expense of the diaspora. He explained this by the fact that citizens of Uzbekistan living and working in Russia have problems enrolling their children in kindergartens and schools.
