A family psychologist explained why Namin’s stepson decided to kill his loved ones

Jealousy and drugs were to blame

Svetlana Yashchenko spoke about the reasons for the dislike of her stepson and her own son Namin. In a conversation with a MK correspondent, the psychologist drew attention to the life of Stas Namin’s stepson Roman, and also pointed out problematic issues that could affect the young man’s aggression.

Let us recall that on October 19, in the Moscow region, the bodies of the son and former mother-in-law of Stas Namin, 30-year-old Artyom Mikoyan and 85-year-old Praskovya Tkachenko were discovered in a cottage in the Moscow region. The relatives were stabbed multiple times. The main suspect in this case is Roman Mikoyan, the stepson of rock musician Stas Namin.

– Where could the hostility of one child towards another come from? – we ask Svetlana Yashchenko.

– If the brothers competed with each other, and Artyom’s talents were highlighted by relatives more often than Roman’s, then Namin’s stepson could develop an inferiority complex against this background. In this case, an unrecognized child will often use aggression. He will attract the attention of his relatives in every possible way, and, alas, not always with good deeds. It also happens that parents can project their good qualities onto one child and negative ones onto another. Then relatives will single out and give preference to a child with good qualities. And again, this can lead, if not to tragedy, then to the disunity of children for sure. The stepfather came to the family when the 9-year-old child was an established personality. Perhaps Roman wanted to be closer to his stepfather so much that he changed his last and patronymic names. I already see this as a problem. It was as if the man was abandoning his past father in order to please the current dad. If this gesture was not followed by an approving response from the man, then the child may be broken, as, perhaps, happened. Then both drugs and gambling are understandable. Roman’s negative attitude towards his brother could have developed since Artyom’s birth, when he became a member of the family and seemed to “take away” the love of his parents. And the fact that the stepfather did not accept his wife’s son could be the last straw.

– Why could Roman harm his own grandmother?

– The young man received a refusal from his grandmother when he asked him to let his friend talk. The man’s last stronghold collapsed in the form of his beloved grandmother, who was close to Artyom and understood him.

– Can a person in a sane state be driven to such a nervous breakdown?

– Yes maybe. I don’t want to say that the relatives are to blame for this. There were also drugs in his history. Drugs destroy personality. It is no longer possible to say that he was psychologically healthy. When a person is a drug addict, he is already destroyed, there is nothing in his head to control. Aggression remains, but awareness evaporates in such situations.
