The Moscow Department of Health reported that supplies of the combined vaccine against measles, rubella and mumps (aka mumps) to the capital’s medical institutions are expected in November. The department noted that a live measles monovaccine is now available in children’s clinics for immunization against measles.
Problems with the supply of the triple measles-rubella-mumps vaccine were reported RBC representatives of private metropolitan clinics. According to the hotline operator of the Medsi network of clinics and medical centers, the shortage of vaccines arose due to problems with suppliers. There is no triple vaccine against measles, rubella and mumps also in the network of multidisciplinary medical centers “Mother and Child”, the EMC clinic, the multidisciplinary clinic “Scandinavia”, in the medical centers “Medscan” and “Hadassah”, the “Invitro” network, as well as in the Central Clinic Literary Fund.
“Currently, there is a shortage of the triple measles-rubella-mumps vaccine in Russia as a whole, and our clinics are no exception,” said Sergei Arabadzhyan, medical director of Medscan Group of Companies.
The mumps vaccine is not available in the network of children’s clinics of evidence-based medicine DocDeti, as well as in the Mother and Child, Invitro, EMC, Medsi and Scandinavia clinics.
Vaccination against measles, mumps and rubella has been included in the National Preventive Vaccination Calendar since 1967. According to Rospotrebnadzor, for January-March 2023 in Russia recorded more than a thousand cases of measles. Moreover, in 2022 was only 34 cases, all of them were imported and did not spread.
