Two Russian tourists were dropped off from a minibus in the middle of a highway in an unfamiliar place on the island of Phuket. The Thai publication The Phuket News writes about this.
A strange incident occurred on October 3 at approximately 12:40. The girls ordered a minivan to get from the Laguna resort to the Central Festival shopping center.
On the way to the destination, the driver had to pass a police checkpoint. The Thai turned out to have a transport tax overdue, and he did not want to pay a fine of 500 baht (about 1.3 thousand rubles). In the end, he simply dropped the tourists off on the road.
By coincidence, the driver dropped the Russians off right in front of the office of local deputy Somchart Techathavorncharon. Having assessed the situation, the politician’s assistants contacted the police, who then found the offender and fined him 5 thousand baht (about 13.3 thousand rubles).
The case must also be referred to the Phuket office of the Land Transport Department, after which the driver may be deprived of his license to drive commercial vehicles due to dishonest provision of services.
