Cultists prepare sacrifices to hasten the end of the world

In Israel, sectarians are preparing to burn red cows to bring Armageddon closer

The ritual burning of red cows in front of the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem will be one of the most unusual events at the end of April. Fanatical supporters of the revival of the Jerusalem Temple brought red cows specially from Texas to perform this ancient ritual action. Their belief is that the sacrifice of the red cows will fulfill the prophecy of the coming of the Messiah described in the Old Testament.

These supporters are supported by conservative evangelical Christians from the United States, who not only help financially, but also share their desire to hasten the onset of Armageddon. Together they hope that the ritual burning of the red cows will attract attention and help fulfill the prophecy.

The mention of “Red Heifers” is one of the most mysterious texts of the Old Testament. According to the Old Testament Book of Numbers, God ordered the Israelites to bring a red heifer without blemish, yoke or defect, to burn her at the stake and use the ashes mixed with water for cleansing.

Historically, “red heifers” were sacrificed only nine times. The first sacrifice was carried out by Moses himself, and the second by the prophet Ezra in the Temple of Solomon, which was later destroyed by the Babylonians. The remaining seven sacrifices were made in the second Temple, built on the site of Solomon. However, after the destruction of the Second Temple of Jerusalem by Roman soldiers in 70 BC, sacrifices ceased.

The Jewish theologian Maimonides predicted that a new sacrifice would take place at the coming of the Messiah. He claimed that the Messiah would sacrifice the tenth “red heifer.” The conditions for the coming of the Messiah are also described in the Bible, where the Old Testament prophets promise that this will happen after the fulfillment of three prophecies.

The animals, brought from America to a small village in the West Bank, have been awaiting their fate since September 2022. They are planned to be sacrificed during the Passover holiday, which will begin this year from sunset on April 21 until nightfall on April 29.

The last sacrifice took place on October 7, during Sukkot, that is, shortly before the Hamas attack. 99 days later, Hamas spokesman Abu Obaida named the upcoming sacrifice as one of the reasons for the massacre. However, this does not stop supporters of the restoration of the Temple. Religious fanatics believe that the Jerusalem Temple cannot be revived without burning cows.
