Cross-country skiing competitions of the Federal Penitentiary Service took place in the Smolensk region

More than fifty people took part in the championship, representing all divisions of the regional penitentiary system. Men tested their strength at a distance of 5 kilometers, women – 2.5 kilometers. The winners were determined both in the team and individual competitions.
Cross-country skiing traditionally opened the departmental Spartakiad. During the current year, teams of physical culture of institutions of the penitentiary system of the Smolensk region will compete in eight more disciplines. Among them: shooting, mini-football, volleyball, swimming, track and field cross-country, service biathlon, kettlebells, table tennis. The best athletes then represent the Federal Penitentiary Service at the regional Spartakiad, held by the Dynamo society among the law enforcement agencies of the region. We note that this year this association celebrates the 100th anniversary of its formation, to which all the ongoing competitions will be dedicated.
Cross-country skiing showed that the most prepared in this discipline is the staff of the Administration, which took first place. The second in the team standings were representatives of the special purpose department. The colony-settlement No. 7 closes the top three winners.
In the individual competition, among the fair sex, Anastasia Ilyenkova, a representative of the team of the Office of the Directorate, who unconditionally outperformed her competitors by almost two minutes, has become the best for several years in a row. Men compete in several age categories. In the race of employees over 40 years old, Vitaly Maksimov, who plays for the team of correctional colony No. 2, won. In the group over 35 years old, Alexey Polyakov, an athlete from colony-settlement No. 7, was the first to cross the finish line. And at the age of up to 35 years, Nikita Mikhailov, an employee of pre-trial detention center No. 1, turned out to be the fastest.
All individual winners were awarded medals and certificates. The winning teams received diplomas of the first, second and third degree.
