Croatia will continue issuing visas to Russian citizens
The Croatian Ambassador to Russia confirmed that the authorities of the European state will continue to issue visas to citizens of the Russian Federation. This was announced on Thursday, April 27, by the director of the Russian representative office of the republic for tourism, Raiko Ruzicka.
In an interview with Kommersant FM, Ruzicka clarified that Croatia will continue to issue tourist visas to Russian citizens – “nothing has changed.” However, due to the reduction in the number of employees of the visa application center, Croatia does not have the capacity to issue visas in the same number as before.
The director of the mission recalled that Croatia had been preparing to join the Schengen area since January 1, 2023, and in the previous year, it actually worked to issue visas in accordance with the relevant rules.
Earlier, the VFS Global visa center said that the Croatian embassy in the Russian Federation from May 1 will suspend the acceptance of applications for tourist visas until further notice in this regard. The reason for this decision was not disclosed in the center.
Given the geopolitical situation, it has become more difficult for Russians to apply for Schengen visas. The experts told what difficulties the citizens of the Russian Federation may face, and gave a number of recommendations, how to get a schengen visa.
