Court fines TikTok for refusing to remove four male kissing videos

The World Court in Moscow fined TikTok 2 million rubles. for the fact that the social network refused to remove LGBT content. We are talking about four videos in which men kiss, a TASS correspondent said.
The fine was imposed under Part 2 of Art. 13.41 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (non-deletion by the site owner of information or a web page if the obligation to remove such information, the web page is provided for by law).
Roskomnadzor experts considered that videos with male kisses could form a positive view of LGBT relationships among adolescents. At the same time, the representative of TikTok asked the court to dismiss the case due to the insignificance of the offense.
On December 5, 2022, President Vladimir Putin signed into law a law toughening penalties for displaying LGBT content. LGBT ideas and gender reassignment must not be promoted in advertisements, books, films and media to adults and children. For individuals, a fine of up to 400 thousand rubles is provided for this, for legal entities – up to 5 million rubles.
