Deputy Head of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation Valentin Ivanov on the sidelines of the International Railway Salon of Equipment and Technologies of Space 1520 “PRO//Motion.Expo” told reporters that the completion of construction and the launch of traffic on the high-speed line (HSR) Moscow – St. Petersburg is scheduled for 2028.

According to the deputy head of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation, the department is guided by the completion and launch of traffic along the high-speed rail line for 2028.

It is noted that the travel time along the Moscow-St. Petersburg high-speed rail line for passengers will be 2 hours 15 minutes, and the construction of the highway, according to the ministry’s calculations, will require the allocation of funds from the National Welfare Fund in the amount of up to 468 billion rubles. At the moment, the total cost of construction is estimated at 1.7 trillion rubles.
