Congress agreed on the US budget until the end of the fiscal year – Kommersant

Democrats and Republicans in the US Congress have reached agreements on a budget for the federal government until the end of the 2024 fiscal year, Democratic leader in Congress Chuck Schumer said. The budget will be about $1.66 trillion.
“The good news is that Congress has finally reached bipartisan agreements on six bills to keep the government running,” Chuck Schumer said in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
The House of Representatives must pass and send bipartisan documents to the Senate by March 8. “When we get the bills, the Senate will again need bipartisan cooperation to pass them before the Friday deadline and avoid a shutdown,” the congressman explained.
On November 17, the White House administration and Congress were unable to agree on the adoption of a full budget. To avoid a shutdown, a compromise bill was adopted that did not provide for assistance to Israel and Ukraine. On March 1, US President Joe Biden signed a bill agreed upon by Congress the day before to extend funding for the country’s government.
