Bulgarian MP Petkov: the authorities will not demolish the monument to the Soviet soldier “Alyosha”
A member of the Bulgarian parliament from the city of Plovdiv, Ivan Petkov, said that the Bulgarian authorities will not be able to demolish the monument to the Soviet soldier-liberator “Alyosha”.
He clarified that the monument is currently being well protected and will stand as a symbol of respect for the Russian people.
Let us recall that earlier an appeal was submitted to the municipal council of the city of Plovdiv, according to which it was proposed to dismantle and move the Alyosha monument to the museum of communist art.
“What happened earlier in Sofia with the monument to the Soviet army will not happen in our city. “Alyosha will stand while we are there,” Petkov noted.
