Vyacheslav Vishnevsky, co-owner of the burned-out Zimnyaya Cherry shopping center, said that he had given a bribe, the state prosecution requested 10 years in prison for him, lawyer Vadim Trifonov informs.

According to investigators, in 2013-2014, Vishnevsky, with the participation of an intermediary, gave a bribe of 7 million rubles to reconstruct the shopping center, bypassing the building permit and in violation of the approved project, which involves the installation of automatic fire extinguishing systems on all floors of the building. Then, with reference to the defense counsel, it was noted that the accused did not admit guilt, since he was not the owner of the shopping center during the conclusion of the contract and construction, but the general director, as a result of which there was no economic interest in the bribe. In addition, Vishnevsky drew attention to the fact that this money was not a bribe, but payment under an official contract for the services of an organization that worked with paperwork and permits.

As the lawyer noted, Vishnevsky pleaded guilty to giving a bribe in 2013, and because of this, a mitigation of punishment was requested in accordance with Art. 164 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
