Chukotka athlete deserves “gold” for throwing an ax

Tatyana Einenkeu from Providence won the third stage of the championship and the championship of Russia in the northern all-around (0+). She threw the ax at 113 meters and became the best in the discipline. Competitions are held in Magadan, representatives of nine regions of the country participate in them, IA Chukotka reports.
The strongest in ax throwing were revealed on the Orbita field in Magadan. For the athletes, the snow was preliminarily rolled and the sectors for throws were marked. Each participant had three attempts. The best result in this discipline was shown by a 22-year-old resident of Providence.
“On the first try, I threw about 92 meters, on the second – 113. Nobody managed to beat this result. Although the opponents were “stepping on their heels”, the closest result to me is 108 meters. Before the competition, I was preparing to throw axes in Providence Bay,” said Tatyana Einenkeu.
She clarified that in February she won “gold” in the All-Russian Arctic Games in Salekhard, throwing an ax at 110 meters. At the championship in Magadan, a resident of Providence confirmed the result. Tatyana Einenkeu will be awarded the title of master of sports in northern all-around.
One more medal was added to the treasury of the district team by a junior from the village of Rytkuchi. Tenth-grader Ilya Ivan won a bronze medal in cross-country running with a stick. According to the organizers of the championship, the district team is in sixth place in the team standings.
Participants will have to identify the best in two more disciplines. Today on the “Orbita” field there will be competitions in throwing a tynzyan on a trochee, and on Saturday the athletes will test their strength in jumping over sleds at the Sports Palace. Solemn rewarding of winners and prize-winners is planned to be held in the children’s camp “Northern Artek”.
According to the organizers, 145 athletes compete in the championship. The event brought together athletes from the Chukotka and Yamalo-Nenets and Nenets districts, Khabarovsk, Krasnoyarsk and Kamchatka territories, Sakhalin and Tyumen regions and Yakutia.
