From October 7 to 9, the NAUKA 0+ Festival was held in Moscow. All those who are not indifferent to knowledge and discoveries were able to visit more than 90 venues in the capital, including Moscow State University, Russian Academy of Sciences, Zaryadye Park, and Expocentre. The third decade of the 21st century has been declared the decade of science and technology in Russia. There is a 0+ age limit in the name of the Festival for a reason. The main task of the event was to interest the youngest, youngest and most talented and to involve them in research activities.

The scale of the event can be estimated by the number of participants – there were about 16 million people. The main theme and message of the Festival this year was the phrase “Creating the Future” in honor of scientific research that influences the transformation of our planet. We talk about the impressions of the youngest lovers of science.

Open lessons with scientists

The festival was solemnly opened by the Rector of Moscow State University Viktor Sadovnichy. The academician gave a lecture on the history of the university, spoke about the most outstanding scientific works of Moscow State University, as well as about the Nobel Prizes of the year.

The NAUKA 0+ festival was held in a hybrid format. In addition to face-to-face events, 700 hours of continuous broadcasting from more than 400 organizations were available online for fans of scientific research. Young researchers from the capital took part in the “Scientists to Schools” campaign. Here, about 200 researchers, researchers and professors held open lessons for the children.

Hits of the exhibition

Expocentre on Krasnaya Presnya became the place of concentration of popular science activities of the Festival. The area of 6,000 square meters was visited by more than 100 participants from all over the country.

At the entrance to the Expocentre, the children were met and instantly charmed by a robot cat. Quite close – the children were looking intently through microscopes, quadrocopters were flying in the neighborhood, someone was standing in virtual reality glasses and flying in a passenger aircraft simulator. Everything is possible at this Festival!

The scientific and educational program “Energy” of the energy and metallurgical company En + Group and the Krasnoyarsk museum “Newton Park” deserves special attention. It included an interactive exposition “Energy of the Future”, an experiment-show “Everything in the world is energy” and a master class “Under the green wing”. Here, visitors could learn a lot about renewable energy and the operation of hydroelectric power plants. Among the guests were those who have been “in the know” for a long time. For example, nine-year-old Anton boasted that he was working on his own prototype right at home. Who knows, maybe a great energy drink is growing?

“The world is approaching a new stage in the energy structure, and the exhibition tells about energy in general – what it is, what it is made of, what types of energy exist in the world. We also show how the planet is changing and what can be done for its sustainable development so that we and our children can live pleasantly and comfortably. We are very grateful to the En+ Group and Oleg Deripaska, because he is interested in the technological development of young people,” said Anton Sharypov, director of the Newton Park Science Museum.

“I planted five trees, and this is just the beginning”

According to the Energy program, the guests took part in experimental experiments and demonstrations of physical phenomena. And the participants were waiting for master classes. As part of one of them, it was possible to join the environmental project “Under the Green Wing” and plant a tree. A young botanist, Anya, stood next to the Energia booth. At the age of 14, the girl managed to plant several trees: “I have already planted five trees, the pine tree at the festival became the sixth, and this is just the beginning.” Every year, on her birthday, she goes to the forest with her parents, where she gives life to a new tree. Anya said that she wants to plant at least a thousand trees, we are sure she will succeed.

Satisfied parents of young scientists expressed their gratitude to the organizers for the popularization of science and for organizing projects of this magnitude. Recall that this year the All-Russian festival NAUKA 0+ will be held in 80 regions of Russia until the end of November. Now he is, for example, in Irkutsk. Young talents will also be able to feel like real scientists and power engineers here – the En+ Group Energia program will also come along with the festival and will be held on October 20.
