Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Kharkiv region Andrey Alekseenko, who previously held the position of mayor of Krasnodar, spoke about the situation with the evacuation from the region. According to Mr. Alekseenko, children from the Kharkiv region, who came to the Krasnodar Territory on vacation in the summer, will stay at the resorts “until the situation changes, until their way home becomes safe.”
“As soon as we received information about the withdrawal of troops, we informed citizens and employees of the administration. Further, by cars of the military-civilian administration and personal vehicles, a part of the population was evacuated, everyone who wished to leave for a safe territory. Then everyone was sent to the checkpoints of the Russian Federation. Everyone who wished to leave had such an opportunity. Everyone was informed. We did our best for this. The exact number of evacuees will become known after they pass the checkpoint,” Andrey Alekseenko said on the air of the regional TV channel “Kuban 24”.
There are currently about 700 children from Kharkov and Kherson regions in camps and boarding houses in the Krasnodar Territory.
