Chernyshenko instructed to organize a public discussion of the Communications Industry Strategy

Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko instructed the Ministry of Digital Transformation to organize a public discussion of the draft Strategy for the Communications Industry until 2035 by June 1, the Deputy Prime Minister’s office reported.
“By the end of May, the project should be submitted to the Russian government. The Ministry of Digital Transformation needs to develop a common goal-setting with numerical measurable SMART metrics by mid-May… Until June 1, I ask the Ministry of Digital Transformation to organize a public discussion of the draft Communications Industry Strategy, ”Chernyshenko said at a strategy session at the Coordination Center.
The Deputy Prime Minister also instructed the Ministry of Digital Development, the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Economics to consider proposals for financial support for the implementation of the strategy.
The main goals of the strategy are to ensure technological sovereignty in the field of communications, as well as the development of modern and high-quality communications services for citizens, businesses and government agencies. Dmitry Kim, Deputy Head of the Ministry of Digital Development, explained that 15 strategic tasks follow from the goals, and the development of specific program activities will begin at the next stage.
Earlier, Chernyshenko’s office reported that the approval of the strategy will take place not later than June-July of this year. Work on it is carried out as part of the instructions of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
