Cases of poisoning Russians with cider will be combined into one proceeding

Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia Alexander Bastrykin instructed to combine into a single proceeding all criminal cases initiated in the country on the facts of poisoning and death of people after drinking surrogate cider. This was announced on Tuesday, June 6, in the press service of the department.
As clarified in the TFR, the investigation of cases initiated under Art. 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (providing services that do not meet safety requirements) on the facts of poisoning people with an alcohol-containing liquid in the Ulyanovsk, Samara, Nizhny Novgorod, Penza regions and the Republic of Udmurtia.
The examination showed that this cider contains impurities of methanol and ethyl butyrate in proportions dangerous to humans.
The investigation is ongoing, on behalf of Bastrykin, an investigation team will be formed from among investigators and forensic experts with experience in investigating such crimes.
Meanwhile, the number of victims of cider poisoning has grown to 90 people, including four minors and one pregnant woman. Died 29 people who used a surrogate.
In the case of poisoning with cider, a Samara individual entrepreneur was arrested, who supplied poisonous alcohol to retail outlets. The man is accused of poor service delivery.
