Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations for the Republic of North Ossetia – Alania announced on the resumption of traffic to the Upper Lars checkpoint on the border with Georgia.
“In connection with the possibility of ensuring safe passage <...> the movement of light vehicles and buses is allowed.
Truck traffic remains closed.
The day before, the department announced the closure of the road from Vladikavkaz to Lars “due to the deterioration of weather conditions on the territory of Georgia.” At the same time, it was indicated that the passage was closed only in the direction of exit from the Russian Federation.
