Boxers from the Kaluga region were among the best in the center of Russia. The regional Ministry of Sports reported this on Wednesday, March 27.
The department noted that the winner of the competition was Ilya Glotov, a student of the Trud Olympic reserve sports school. He defeated rivals from the Moscow, Lipetsk and Oryol regions. And his friend from the sports school, Ilya Golubkov, climbed to the third step of the podium.
“We congratulate our athletes and their coach Sergei Markelov,” the ministry noted.
The Central Federal District boxing championship among juniors 17-18 years old took place in Kostroma. About 150 athletes from 17 regions of Russia competed for leadership there.
