The place of mass death of birds was found in another area of the Stavropol Territory. Hundreds of ducks, cranes, swans and geese have died and continue to die on the Dundinskoye reservoir in the Apanasenkovsky district. One of the residents who came to the reservoir on Wednesday, February 1, found hundreds of corpses of already dead birds, which lay on the shore and were partially frozen into the ice.
As reported in the press service of the prosecutor’s office of the Stavropol Karya, the district prosecutor’s office has already begun checking on this fact. The department clarified that the prosecutor’s report on the fact of the mass death of birds was registered in the territorial department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. As part of the audit, expert examinations will be scheduled “to make a legal procedural decision.”
At the end of 2022 in the Stavropol Territory already were recorded the facts of mass death of representatives of the animal world, including those listed in the Red Book of common cranes. According to preliminary information, thousands of animals have died and continue to die because of the poisoned bait – banned zinc phosphide, which local farmers scattered in the fields to control mice.
On the fact of the mass death of birds, two criminal cases are being investigated on violation of the rules for the use of chemicals, which led to serious consequences.
