Biathletes shared the globes: lovers Goreeva and Khalili took two main

The final stage of the Russian Biathlon Cup in Tchaikovsky ended with the victory of Tamara Derbusheva. The biathlete won the mass start with no misses at four shooting ranges. As the champion said, the frost that haunted our biathlon at the beginning of the season returned, but the rivals warmed each other up so much that it was hot for everyone at the finish line. The second was Irina Kazakevich (two misses), the third – Natalia Gerbulova (three misses). Victoria Slivko won the mass start standings, Anastasia Goreeva was in second place, and Tamara Derbusheva was third.

And in the overall standings of the Cup of Russia this season, Anastasia Goreeva won. Now the best biathlete and Victoria Slivko scored the same number of points, but Nastya was ahead in victories. In third place is Elizaveta Kaplina, who was in second place before the race, but missed the mass start because she felt unwell.

Nastya Goreeva said that she dedicates this victory to herself. “For all your efforts.” She was not cunning, because the summer training did not turn out as planned, and she missed a lot due to illnesses. She admitted that there are health problems even now, the more valuable is that she coped with herself. She also said that the level of competition in the Russian Cup has grown a lot compared to last year, it is high.

Victoria Slivko, having learned that she received the same number of points as Goreeva in the overall standings, said that she was not upset: “I am the second winner.” And then she specified: let Nastya have a globe, but I will know that we are equal. Slivko said already this year that she never considered herself a high-speed athlete. Always, they say, she was inferior to her rivals in this component of biathlon, but she coped with shooting. And this summer I did a very big job, practicing speed. The result is shown.

Being among the leaders of the overall standings, Vika laughed: I’m not afraid to perform in the yellow jersey of the leader, the usual jersey is a beautiful yellow color, “which suits me”. The biathlete places accents in the answers clearly. As now: “Nastya won, I didn’t. Without victories, you can say I won the overall standings.

In men, the final race of the Russian Cup was won by Anton Babikov, two misses. In second place – Roman Eremin, two misses, in third – Karim Khalili, also with a deuce. Alexander Povarnitsyn was in fourth place, Eduard Latypov was in fifth with three misses.

On the eve of Latypov won with perfect shooting in the pursuit race, he said – he intends to continue the course for victory in the mass start. And he admitted that he ran with himself and struggled with “some of his shortcomings: this is biathlon, and you always have to be on the alert.” This time it didn’t work out perfectly.

In parallel with our Cup, as you know, the biathlon world championship is going on. Latypov admitted that different feelings about our absence there have already cooled down, it’s just that all the athletes are waiting for the moment when they will also compete at international competitions. But good form is needed always and everywhere. Both for the Cup and for the Russian Championship, “here you also have to run, show the result, but there is no benefit from psychological stress.”

And who certainly was on the alert in the mass start was Anton Babikov. He won the mass start of the season. Coach Sergei Bashkirov called this race the best for Babikov in recent times. (Karim Khalili – the second, Alexander Povarnitsyn – the third). From the first lap it was clear that Anton was charged only to win. As the coaches said, he worked aggressively at the turn and already “killed everyone there”.

Babikov is generally an example of how it is necessary to look for opportunities for progress in sports. He does not hesitate, for example, to say hello to a psychologist, although for many this direction of work on oneself still does not look convincing yet. And once he said that in the training process he twisted his leg twice in the summer. And what? “It helped me make time for my weaker sides. Knocking out my leg helped me focus on my arms.” Just about the complex.

He also claims that he has no talent in biathlon, says that he understood this a long time ago. But there is a love for the sport and a certain degree of hard work, which “allowed me to achieve some results, but talent for me is something else.” And he cites Latypov as an example: Edik has a real talent: he came to biathlon at the age of 16 and became the best biathlete in Russia. “And I have been studying since I was 10 years old and have never grabbed stars from the sky. I was a bad shooter, not a very good runner. Everything I have achieved has been through hard work.”

The overall standings of the Cup of Russia this season was won by Karim Khalili, Alexander Povarnitsyn was in second place, and Eduard Latypov was in third. The struggle for the Globe was in the last race of the Cup only between Khalili and Povarnitsyn. Alexander became the fourth in the mass start, but for the first place in the overall standings, Khalili had to be at least 12th at this distance. His third result was eventually victorious.

Povarnitsyn joked after the race that it was good in such a cold weather that we made it to the finish line at all. I had to fight with myself, I clung to those who went ahead, there were “constant catch-ups”, and misses are excessive haste.

Coach Istomin is glad that Karim Khalili, who won the Cup, showed psychological stability in the mass start and did not flinch. And he believes that by the end of the season the biathlete will come to his best condition.

Khalili himself did not hide: he saw everything during the mass start, “driving and counting in front of the last stand”, he knew that Sasha Povarnitsyn was fourth. I saw how he missed, and said to himself that you can’t make mistakes. “I thought that the coolest thing would be if we go to the last lap together and find the strongest there: I go out to the last lap and see that Sasha is right there.”

… Well, as the winners say, the personal is not public. Therefore, all that the two best biathletes of the season following the results of the Russian Cup Anastasia Goreeva and Karim Khalili can afford is to clarify: awards, that is, globes, will stand side by side.
