The Belgorod administration has sent letters to local businesses recommending additional security measures in the face of the continued threat of shelling. Officials propose to equip ground and underground shelters for personnel, as well as to strengthen the windows and walls of buildings by lining them with sandbags or concrete blocks.
According to a letter published by “Flashlight”, the authorities were asked to report on the security measures taken by April 6. The Mayor’s Office explained to Kommersant that this is part of the planned work that took place earlier. Similar measures are ongoing checks of warning systems in the region. Another check took place today, April 3rd.
In the Belgorod region, due to constant shelling from Ukraine, a yellow level of terrorist danger and a medium-level response mode are in effect. In the regional center, located about 40 km from the border, several incidents with casualties and destruction occurred during the special military operation.
In early April last year, helicopters of the armed forces of Ukraine hit at the oil depot on the outskirts. The most significant damage brought fragments of the Tochka-U rocket on the night of July 3: then 5 people died in Belgorod, 642 residential premises and 47 cars were damaged. In mid-October, fragments of a downed rocket hit into a city high-rise building, there were no casualties.
