Moscow School No. 2120 hosted the “Knit Good” campaign, in which students knitted octopuses from woolen threads and made blanks for multi-colored blankets from scraps, which will later go to the interregional charitable organization “Saint Belogorye Against Childhood Cancer”. Soon, little patients of the Emerald City Palliative Care Center will receive ready-made multi-colored blankets from volunteers, as well as knitted octopuses that are attached to droppers and delight the eyes of babies during medical procedures.
As the curator of the volunteer movement of school No. 2120 Elena Tsapa said, most of the children picked up knitting needles and hooks for the first time. They even knitted on the fingers – this technique is now popular among young people.
“The guys taught each other, watched video lessons, asked their mothers and grandmothers to teach them needlework,” says Elena Tsapa. “But the most valuable and simple thing that children have learned is compassion.
