AvtoVAZ is negotiating a possible SKD assembly of foreign cars

Foreign automakers approached AvtoVAZ with a proposal to establish a SKD assembly of cars of their brands. Negotiations are currently underway. This was announced by the president of the Russian automobile concern Maxim Sokolov.
“They contacted. We are negotiating and looking at how beneficial it will be for AvtoVAZ and the Russian automotive industry as a whole,” Sokolov said.
It should be noted that AvtoVAZ has its own production sites in Togliatti and Izhevsk. Back in mid-May, the French concern Renault sold 67.69% of its stake to state ownership.
AvtoVAZ announced that they intend to resume production of almost the entire model line next year.
