In recent years, Russian courts, at the request of the prosecutor’s office, transferred illegal property of officials to the state for a total amount of more than $ 2 billion. This was announced by the Prosecutor General of Russia Igor Krasnov.
“In Russia, an effective system has been built to control the income, expenses and turnover of property of civil servants and their close relatives,” the Prosecutor General said.
He also added that the practice of turning money of corrupt origin into the country’s income has been formed. According to him, prosecutors have the right to file lawsuits against those officials who have not provided evidence that the property they have acquired belongs to them legally.
